Man, I need to get back on my game. It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged anything. Luckily, I’ve come up with a new project that I think I’m going to enjoy, and it just so happens to be perfect for sharing with the class.

If you know me at all, you know my opinion on the Harry Potter series. But it’s been a long time since I’ve read those books. And in the intervening years, I’ve been exposed to a lot more literature, some of it far better (Farseer and Tawny Man trilogies come to mind) and some of it much, much worse (looking at you, Inheritance Cycle). I know that I used to complain that Harry Potter lowered the already shallow bar for fantasy, but that was before Twilight came along.

So I’m going to be re-reading Harry Potter, from book 1 to book 7, sharing my thoughts with everyone as I go. Is it as horrible as I recall? Does it stand tall in comparison to what we have to put up with now? Did I judge it too harshly, or did I forget about important positives?
